PENKNIFE

i'm a dog with a forehead
a sorehead dog
pat my brow
and my brains will grow

let me sniff your fingers
i'm a dog with a longnose
i inhale the memories
between your toes

i once had a nightmare
where you died
i swish my tail
when i'm by your side

curl up on the sofa
i could sleep till tomorrow
i dig my bone
in a permanent furrow
