I completed these 10 poemarios, which are hand-made books filled with my texts and stories and drawings photos and rimes and non-rimes, written over the years. They are organised by chapters of roughly where i was based during each phase of my life and although the titles are kind of arbitrary since i moved around a lot inside each of those chapters, one key unchanging element to these booklets (around 50 – 100 pages each) is the chronology. For some reason i have a mania for maintaining the chronology of these things, so I’ve respected that to the end.
I have printed various copies of each book and they have colourful card covers and they are crisp and fresh off the press. They are written and designed and stapled together by myself and since I’m in the big city of Madrid i am offering them to bookstores while I’m here. Actually 3 of them were written while i lived here.
This project is something I’ve been working on a while now, sometimes obsessively for days at a time. They have been through various print runs during which i have corrected and improved, although there are always some ways to improve them even more. I guess i hope that eventually it’s in those little mistakes and weirdnesses where their charm and individual personalities live. wabi sabi.
The titles are:
- Rimes and Travels
- London
- Mexico
- Surreal Madrid (i)
- Magpie Madrid (ii)
- Madrid and the Mirror (iii)
- Alcalá
- Galicia / Morocco
- Summer / Winter
- Stone Cottage
I am proud to have finished such a project and am pleased with the results. I think they are both meaningful to myself and interesting in themselves as well. I hope to sell them here on the website soon but for now feel free to ask. Little by little i will be sharing texts from them.
I am open to the possibilities and have faith in the future
