OLD WORLD (172 pgs) tells a surrealistic tale backwards through time, somewhere on the verge of being a sci-fi space opera, but missing the classic sci-fi elements. half of the story is set in a vaguely present world and the other half takes place in the mind of the main character and set in a dystopian environment plagued by never-ending rains and flooding. spaceships are fleeing the old world to a relatively close new planet populated by the earth’s elite and their imprisoned staff. meanwhile, the protagonist sánchez has to discover what he needs to do with this prophetic vision of the future while the different environments of each chapter are negotiated. the storyline floods in and out of the scenes, while the text reads chronologically and the chapters jump backwards through time.
