SLEEP DRAGONS
sleep dragons is my latest album. the songs are about life and death and loss of love and the finding of the inner self. it is a journey through life, through emotions, through worlds.
these 10 songs were written and performed by myself and feature maddie broad, jara eliott, laura adelaida, paul baker, noel palacios, daniel bedia, diego oleiros, f. pascual currás, brandán cerviño, horacio legido, eduardo molina tiburcio and was mastered by vincent d, so thanks to all those people. i hope you enjoy it.
folk songs.
this album is made by using lyrics from the classic penguin book of english folk songs and the fascinating song for every season by bob copper, and interpreted with my own melodies and chords. (apart from o good ale and the cover of bedlam boys by old blind dogs). the books contained musical notation but since i can’t read music i made it up.
THE CLOUD
Roller was the first song we made as the surcos with mauro álves @mauroalves playing organ, arturo garcía @cutecaiena playing drums, and horacio legido playing electric guitar. katy hooper @katyhoopermusic also sings vocals on it. A swan also features mauro on piano. it was mixed and mastered by endurance beatz @endurancebeatz. Ella features jara eliott singing and noé pecker produced it.
MY BLUE TEMPERS
mauro álves @mauroalves played keys on Gravity and Good Morning. arturo garcía @cutecaiena played drums on Gravity, Drugs and Mirror. it was mixed and mastered by endurance beatz @endurancebeatz.
ÓPERA FUEGO
this operetta e.p. is a natural drama – a drama about nature with no human protagonist. it’s about the forest fires in 2020 which ravaged not only the dry and forested areas of northern spain, but also portugal, argentina, california, and australia etc. there are many conspiracies as to how the fires begin, who starts them, or who they end up benefiting. these 5 songs are like the 5 elements of chinese daoism, but zoomed in on just the fire element and reimagined to show the changes that come from the forest fires. as arturo said: this work is not political, it’s poetical.
mauro álves @mauroalves was on production and keyboards, synths and orchestral sections, arturo garcía @cutecaiena played drums and helped with recording, horacio garcía played electric guitar, cecilia gema @ceciliagema sung vocals at beginning of Sequía, the first track, and gabrielle carrère @gabrielle_carrere sung at the end. my family sung choruses on Animales. it was recorded in galicia and mastered by noé pécker, via @acidmenta.
the project features woven textile artwork made by melisa arancibia, an image for each song/chapter, @kroma.odissey

YOUTUBE PLAYLISTS
i grouped my songs into playlists and put them on youtube:
BOOK OF SONGS
the book of songs (诗经) is the title of a collection of ancient chinese poems. the fishhawks sing “gwan-gwan…” i borrowed the title to mean a list of all my songs.
LIVE
a playlist of songs played live and direct.
CASA 3
some recordings from the communal kitchen also known as casa 3.
ALPENDRE STUDIO
recorded with the guidance of my friend Mauro in the house which later i would live in and then lose. all these songs are in drop D.
SAN FIZ
i moved from central to rural north spain and recorded these songs in the kitchen.
CONCIERTO AL DESIERTO
i wanted to record a live album called concierto al desierto, so i convinced G to come with me into the ‘desert’ of alcala, a dry scrubland surrounding the town. i hung the mic from a tree and went through all my songs in alphabetical order. G got heatstroke and i got this colletion of recordings. afterwards, G did the artwork for it as well, of the pines we were under.
ALCALÁ
these are songs i recorded in alcalá de henares when i started living alone and finally figured out my music program and how to connect my usb mic. i had just been fired from my job at the cardboard factory. you can hear the creaking of my plastic chair and the whistling winds and the mopeds whizzing past outside. these recordings are the beginning of my recordings.
